Wow! Which Nicaraguan you had? Mine is generic peaberry from Matagalpa regions and la esperenza, the latter my favorite and complex coffee

See Sweetmarias.com comment on the bean which I agree.

I just had Nicaraguan today. It's very interesting. I've found it well balance ,low acid with nice body, sweet fruite subtle wiht tobacco.

I roasted slightly darker and tried as SO espresso. The cup was very nice , smooth , balance very easy to drink. The aftertaste was like brandy.

I'm not sure this would represent generic Nic. or not. It's my first time with this coffee.

I had Panama Carmen Estate long time ago but not this lot and not microlot.

It was good but not great so much so I prefer any generic Nicaraguan more.

Also, I don't think it's fair to compare Carmen estate to Esmeralda as the latter is from Geisha while the former is not. I haven't had the Esmeralda but I think it shouldn't share much in common even it grows in the sam area?

Just my 2 cents
